The Education, Work and Care Centre Dobrna has been providing the social service of institutional care of adults within the unit Home for Adults since 2003. In autumn 2007 we moved to new, modern premises.
This service is intended for adults with disorders in physical and mental development. Institutional care is a form of treatment in an institution, in another family or in another organised form replacing, complementing or providing the function of home or one's own family for the users.
It includes:
- basic care and social care pursuant to the regulations in the field of social care,
- health care pursuant to the regulations in the field of health care.
Special attention is paid to leisure activities. In the afternoons we encourage the users to go in for mobility and sports activities, and to participate in creative and social activities and games.
Periodically, we provide horse riding and swimming for them. They participate in cultural and sports events inside and outside our centre. They can choose freely which clubs they want to join, they plan short afternoon trips, shopping, birthday celebrations, watching films at the cinema and the like.
Some users avail themselves of the service by the Centre for care and occupational activity in the mornings; they work under specific conditions in the Work unit Centre for care and occupational activity Dobrna and Centre for care and occupational activity Vojnik.
The users' council, the parents' council and self-advocacy groups are also active in the centre.
