The Health care ward
The Education, Work and Care Centre Dobrna provides basic health care of people with disorders in mental and physical development in the field of prevention and curative treatment. The health care service is an integral part of health care activities of the Education, Work and Care Centre Dobrna. The health care service is active in all work units 24 hours a day, every day throughout the year. Within the framework of medical services we cooperate with external specialists who come to the Centre regularly:
- a paediatrician,
- a general practitioner,
- a paedopsychiatrist,
- a psychiatrist.
We also cooperate with other specialists outside the Centre: dental services for children and adults, specialized neurologists. When necessary, we associate with other specialists and health institutions. The process of establishing users' needs for health care, planning and executing health care and the evaluation of the entire health care process with the user form the basis for providing high quality health care for children, adolescents and adults with disorders in mental and physical development.
Individual and integral approach to the users and knowing their capabilities and skills are necessary to be able to ensure a high level of autonomy. We keep to the principle: "We do not work for the user, we work with the user".
The Health care ward at the Education, Work and Care Centre Dobrna provides the following:
- executes the health care process and satisfies the users' needs in the field of vital activities, taking into account the level of autonomy,
- organizes work of the health care service,
- carries out ambulatory care,
- carries out health education for the users, parents and employees,
- carries out measures to ensure a suitable medical hygiene regime in the Centre,
- plans the preparation of a healthy diet,
- accompanies users on vacation,
- cooperates with other professionals inside and outside the Centre,
- provides continuous professional training for nurses,
- carries out the traineeship process for medical technicians / nurses,
- ensures the adequacy of medical documentation.
The staff of the Health care ward uses a friendly interdisciplinary approach to promote health, prevent diseases, carry out treatment and rehabilitation of children, adolescents and adult users of the Education, Work and Care Centre Dobrna. By carrying out modern health care, we are committed to fulfilling the individual medical needs of our users who are of central importance to health care providers.
