AGROFOOD – participation in the preparation for the application for the European project Strategic partnership

29.11.2019

In the middle of November two representatives of the Education, Work and Care Centre Dobrna, Jasna Kekić and Mateja Čerenak, attended a two-day preparatory meeting in the town of Leeuwarden (the province of Friesland, the Netherlands). Its objective was to explore the possibilities for the cooperation of various institutions from several European countries within the new Erasmus+ project, key measure 2 – Strategic partnership.

Partners from Poland, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and the Education, Work and Care Centre Dobrna from Slovenia attended the conference in response to the invitation by Mr Klaas Fokking, the manager of InterPrimair Europe. The main topics of conversation were: food, local agriculture and biotic diversity. The objective of the project is to raise awareness of people of all ages about importance of growing, processing and quality of (local) food and about biotic diversity. We as partners are convinced that education, cooperation and integration of various institutions from different countries will improve people's awareness about these topics. We expect that schools at all educational levels, governmental and nongovernmental organizations as well as other interested parties will join the project.

In the coming months, the Education, Work and Care Centre Dobrna (like the other foreign partners) will widen the network of interested participants, coordinate the details of the project and fulfil all requirements for the response to Erasmus+ Call for proposals which is scheduled to be published in March 2020.

If our application succeeds, the three-year project AgroFood will begin in September 2020.
